Default How to start

I just acquired a 2003 Club Car AQ(Electric).

The batteries seem to have power in them as when you push the rocker switch to r, it starts to make the beeping sound. The yellow battery light appears to be on.

When I press the pedal, I hear a little click, but no movement. Samething in reverse. No movement, just the sound of a relay clicking.

Is there a chance the batteries are so drained, that it doesnt want to move?

I just purchased a charger (stanley) golf cart charger and have it on charge now.

While its charging, is there anything else it could be or that I should check to make sure this thing will move?

FYI, its missing a brake drum in the rear, which will be replaced today.

I am a relative newbie to carts but I work in the electronic industry so my advice would be to make sure your batteries are at full charge before trying to test or diagnose any problems. Once you are at full charge, come back and tell us what happens now.

You might want to read the stickies on battery maintenance. Did you check the batteries for water level? They may or may not be any good.

also, on an IQ cart, if the batterys were run all the way down, the controller will go into a lock out mode.

Lift the seat and switch the tow/run switch to tow and then back to run, see if you get it moving.

If the yellow light is on then the batts are low.
