Default Need help selecting a lift kit

I want to put a simple lift kit on my 1994 Club Car DS. Nothing too high. 4" will probably do. Just high enough to put some basic mud grips on it and keep it above some shallow water. And something that I can hopefully install myself. Any ideas which one would work for me?

Many of the site sponsors have lifts and they are all good.

I prefer the 6 inch All Sports A-Arm lift.....great quality and easy install. I have also heard very good things about all the Jakes lifts as well.

Good luck!

I'm not even really that concerned about getting the cart too high as I don't plan to take it through much water. Mainly just trying to get some mud grips on it. Would 6" be too high?

I know they make a 4 inch lift, but seems that 6 inch is more the norm these days. I originally was going to get a 4 inch and went with a 6 inch. I don't think it's too high at all....and very stable.

I have 23 inch tires and really like the look and ride. How big of tires are you planning to go with?

I don't really know anything about tire sizes. How is that 23" measured? And what would be a normal, stock tire size?

23 inch is the overall height of the tire. I believe a stock tire is 18 inches and the wheel is 8 inches. Others chime in if I am wrong.

A lot of the off-road type tires are 22 or 23 inches and they generally use a 12 inch wheel. They do make shorter off-road type tires, but I don't know a lot about their height.

I really like my Jakes 6" spindle lift. Very easy to install, nothing unusual or elaborate, but it suits my needs very well.

I know I'll get flamed for this response, but I bought a Buggies Unlimited kit from Ebay. It's a Chinese copy of the Allsports kit, I believe. The hardware is inferior, but the 6" A arm kit was about $230.00 shipped, no tax. The install was straightforward, and the kit included new HD rear leaf springs. I'm pretty pleased with it actually, but I do recommend replacing the hardware. OK, I'm a tightwad. Go ahead, everyone, tear me a new one. Flame suit ON!!!
