I smoked my controller on a 97 club car regen. Turns out that Club Car only used this controller for 2 years (Regen 1). They went to the Regen 2 in 1999 and you can find replacements for it. As for the Regen 1, good luck. I couldn't find one anywhere. Finally converted it to a series system and replaced the motor and controller.

What was required to convert to a series system...I have a RegenII and thought about doing this, but wasnt sure if it was even possible....I actually HAVE a second motor that is intended for a series cart. Is it just a matter of changing the controller, from here? Any help anyone could offer on this would be REALLY appreciated.

Series controller, series motor, new solenoid, forward/reverse switch. Would also upgrade the cables if going to a higher amp controller. I think the most affordable method is buying all at once via a kit. That way you should feel comfortable that everything is compatable.

hi msoe guysI have a 97 regen 1 also and the I sent my stock controller G701 to programa at 3500 NW 2nd ave #501Boca Raton Fl,33431 .Phone 561-338-8843 They repaired it for $200 + shipping and warranteed it for 2 years. I believe their website is programa.com[/url]. It works great and I have plenty of speed. I also removed the regen resister assb and ran the white wire(big cable) directly to the controller from the motor. you have to leave the solenoid for the regen connected.apparently this regen system causes a lot of problems with the controller. The result is that the cart will coast when releasing the gas pedal. Also the wire diagram shown above does not match my system as I dont have the tow switch, it is built in to the for/rev switch. Hope this helps Rick

sorry programa.com is not the web site. The right website I got off the controller itself.
