Default what speed should an 1989 club car go

Just wondering how fast should they go stock? Mine seems slow compared to all the other golf carts I see here where I am camping.

Thanks, I wonder if the batteries are causing it to be so sluggish even though they are testing good. They are 5years old. Guess it's a good thing I got a great deal on the cart since it looks like I will have to drop a grand into it.

Very possible. Batteries are the life of the system. Especially in that old of a vehicle.

david, well said.............it amazes me that people don,t give the batteries the credit they deserve, thats why i tell everyone they are the very last place you should ever consider cutting corners.....they are the life of the cart no matter what and by cutting corners there its the one place you,ll notice it............................

another question I have is if I deciede to go ahead and convert to the controller and 48v would you recommend 8-6volts or 6-8 volts? keep in mind this cart will not have a lift kit(wont fit in my toyhauler with one) and will be used to ride around camp grounds when we are camping.

I agree with Shadowman. 8 6 volt batteries will give you more range, but 99% of people don't need the extra range that they provide. 6 8 volt batteries will be just fine for the average user.

Well I guess my batteries are worst off then expected. After I fully charged them I went on maybe a half mile trip and when I returned the batteries where already at 36.8 volts which according to the chart is all the way down to 60% charge.
