Default New to cart owning & having Battery problems

Hello all,
I am new to owning a golf cart and am having a problem with the batteries. It was running and charging fine and then my daughter ran it down so low the cart would not move. It will not take a charge now. The battery charger guage does not move when I plug it in to the cart, but when plugged in I step on the gas and the cart moves.
Are my batteries or my charger bad?

Welcome to BGW.

Good news is neither are bad. The charger has to sense around 28 or so volts before it will come on. You will have to charge the batteries up enough for the automatic cart charger to take over. If it's a 36 volt cart this is no problem. You can charge 2 at a time with a 12 volt automotive type charger until you get enough juice.

Welcome to the forum charjust......................

If the batteries are run down below 32 volts, (I believe thats it) the charger will not come on and therefore the batteries have to be charged with automobile or a manual charger till the Carts Automatic charger will charge them.

I'm also assuming it's a 48 volt club car.

What year is your cart?

We could use more info on your cart.

Photos are always a plus too.
