Default 1984 Club Car Electric is it 36V or 48V

Good morning
My neighbor gave me the Club Car and he knew nothing about it. There were no batteries. Is this a 36V or a 48V?
Thanks
Bill

It is a 36v 5 solenoid cart. CC made their first 48v cart in 1995.

congrats on your cart.......now if you plan on doing any upgrades this is the perfect time, as it is if you put it back to just a stock cart it has the most outdated speed system there is.......tell me it has a motor and a charger? anyways that being said before you dump any money in it ask your self what you want out of it.......stock you,ll go 12 to 14 mph and lose 1/2 of that going up inclines or hills and its the least energy effienct...........but since you need everything anyways i would really think about going to 48 volts...........save your money its an addiction with no cure other then coming here and seeing your not alone....................................

Thanks mkernan
I think you are correct. It appears that whoever had the car before I got it had hooked the batteries up wrong and caused insulation on two of the wires to burn. I plan to get 6 6V batteries and hook them up once I replace the bad wires. Do you know where I can find wiring diagram? Hopefully nothing else was burned.
Thanks
Bill

Thank you shadowman
I am very interested in what it take to convert to a 48volt system and any suggestions you have to upgrade my 1984 Club Car.
Thanks
