Default cc ds.. just quit??

hey guys.. I have a 98 ccsd that we did a new Alltrax 650,high speed motor, gears, hd for/rev, 400amp controller, 1 gauge wire throughout, new batteries... Its been running great for about 4 months. We took it out yesterday and ran her pretty hard for about 3 miles... Ran the batts down to they were dead. Charged it back up and went out again. After we stopped for a sec and took back off it just died like the batts were dead. ?. I got it back home and charged it completely and now it is doing the same thing. The solenoid and micro both click and rev beep works fine but when you step on the pedal it just bumps back a little and stops like its low batts.. Put it in forward same thung but it wants to go backwards??? Any ideas.. Checked all wiring 3 times now and all tight and nothing melted...

when you ran the cart down to the dead battery point you might have LOCKED OUT the controller in UNDER VOLTAGE CUT OFF.
(what is your controller set to as the UNDER VOLTAGE point )

1 place tow/ run in tow

2. disconnect your battery pack for 5 minutes

3. reconnect batteries and charge batteries a good 14 hours in tow position

4 wait 10 hours after charge

by the way did you smell any burning when all this happened . Did you feel the temp of the motor ???

5 test all batteries with a hydrometer ..making sure you dont have a bad cell dragging the entire pack down

6 place switch back into "RUN" try you cart again

thanks, I dont have a run/tow on this one..It ran fine after we ran the batts down and we went on a 2 mile run right after we charged them and it ran great. We stopped for a few minutes and were just barely moving slow when it just stopped like it had dead batts.. makes a slight whining noise from the motor when you put the pedal to the floor..

A battery can crap out at any time, put a meter on the pack and try to go. Tell us the standing still voltage and what it reads when you try to go. This way we can eliminate the battery issue.

Be aware that running the batts down until they are dead is not a good idea. When voltage is low amperage draw is very high and high amperage = high heat and heat is the enemy of your electronic components.

Directional selection is done with the rotary F&R ...I would take a look at that first.
Never heard of a AXE swapping direction like a DXC can. But it might be possible?

scotty with that amount of voltage drop do you think it may have done something to controller? the part of his post where its in forward but wants to go backwards makes me want to think something else is going on.........................
