Default Solenoid Question

I have a 1988 CC with wiper type speed controller. The cart was gvien to me because it was geeting hot, it was trying to "go" all the time, and my buddy just wanted a new one. On advice from the forum, I bought a new Solenoid from dealer, and after I left I noticed writing on the solenoid...."Use only on Multi-Solenoid 36V vehicles".

Am I supposed to have more than 1 solenoid?
I have a resister panel with 7 wires (diff colors) going from there to wiper controller assem.

I aslo noticed on my cart, that the microswitch on the top left of the F/R assembly was taken off. The 18 ga. blue wire coming out of the key was connected to the 18 ga. yellow wire coming out of the Solenoid. The 18 ga red wire coming out of the key was going to the charger.

It looks like the F/R micro switch was bypassed. What would this caouse??

Sorry for the book and thanks for any help.

Vance

No, your cart has only 1 solenoid. Chances are the throttle pedal or the micro switch was sticking. I have an 88 just like yours and the pedal wants to stick down every so often resultig in a engaged solenoid.
