Default 1997 48 v starts and stops

Hi, I have a 97 club car. The batteries had run down all the way. I was able to follow the manual and recharge them. They are now fully charged. (tested with volt meter).

The problem occurred sporadically prior to the recharge but now it is constant.

When I press the accelerator all the way the cart starts to move then stops. If I push the accelerator slowly the cart will move slowly but as I push it all the way down the cart stops. I hear the solenoid click??? I jacked it up and and accelerated all the way. The tires spun but when I put a drag on the tires they stopped and the solenoid clicked.

What is my next step?

Thanks,

Rsquared

Reconnect your meter and see what your voltage does under load. It sounds like a bad battery, so far.

Thanks simple man. W/O a load it was 45.6 v. With a load it dropped as low as 20. I am going to get all batteries tested. All six seem to be the same age...old.

Is it recommended to replace all batteris at once since they are old?

You are experiencing problems and need batteries, so I would replace them all at once . . the pack will be only as good as the weakest battery . . .
