Default 2004 Club Car is slow

I'm new to this golf gart stuff. Got a 2004 Club Car my wife bought and had painted. Looks great, but next to my brother-in-law's ez go golf cart mine is soooooo slow. Both are stock with no extra's like bigger tires. Is this just how it is or is there something wrong? Cart charges fine, reverse is fine. Only thing other day it would click and wouldn't move. After cleaning a few wires, works fine. Any suggestions to make this thing pick up some speed inexpensively?

Much appreciation
Jody

AA0435-425567 is the serial number. I don't know if it is a Precedent model or what model it is. I have 6 8volt batteries. Checked them with volt meter and each are giving me 8.5volts. Thanks

It's an IQ cart. Take it to a Club Car Dealer and have them program it to the fastest speed. They can even read it and it will tell you what speed it it set for now. It's probably still set for Golf Course Speed which is "usually" not the fastest speed.
