Default 2001 DS Club Car motor degradation

My 2001 has worked well over the years. I replaced the Batteries about 3 years ago. Right now I am deciding if I want to buy a new motor?

My question is, will a new motor increase the speed of my cart? Are new brushes worth a try? Has anyone cleaned the brushes and found the cart was faster?

Thanks, CPVJR
