club car villager 8 drivers side tire rubs after lift
After installing a jake's 6 inch lift kit on a club car villager 8, the driver's side tire rubs on a hard left turn. the tires are 22 x 11 - 12 safari all terrain on 12 inch wheels. I tried adjusting the tie rod ends because the tow in did not look right. I got it a little better but it still rubs but the passenger side does not rub turning either way. Do I need wheel spacers or could it be a suspension issue?
Thanks |

Re: club car villager 8 drivers side tire rubs after lift
one more thing that might help. I just went out an measured. When the front tires are pointing straight ahead, the drivers side tire is almost an inch closer to the body than the passenger side tire. Is this toe in? or camber?
thanks |

\ / or / \ is camber. It sounds like toe. measure the center of tire at hub height on the front of the tire and the rear of the tire to dial in toe, adjusting tie rod accordingly. hope this helps

Re: club car villager 8 drivers side tire rubs after lift
Thought I would post an update. I bought a new heavy duty front spring, which lessened the tire rubbing but it would still rub a little on very hard left hand turn. I ordered the Jake's wheelbase extension bracket. Yesterday afternoon after work, I removed the tires, spindles, toe plate, spring, and shocks. Once everything was removed it was obvious how the extension plate was to be mounted. All the holes in the plate lined up perfectly. What a quality product. Thanks Jake's! I cut the shock mounts off the A arms, ground off the welds and painted them, drilled the holes for the new shock mounts and remounted the A arms. I put the spring and toe plate back on and put shocks back on. So far everything has fit perfectly. This evening I will finish up with the spindles and tires. I will report back on the finished job.

Re: club car villager 8 drivers side tire rubs after lift
Yesterday after work I put the spindles and tires back on and adjusted the the toe in. Problem solved. After installing the wheel base extension bracket, the front tire no longer rubs. Thanks again Jake's for a great product!
