Batteries Low on Water
What are the symptoms of the batteries being low on water? I have a 1989 Club Car 36v with Crown batteries and was "told" the batteries are less than one year old. The cart would only hold a charge for about 2 miles on level paved roads. I added some water to the batteries but still no change? Any suggestions?
Thanks!! |

Re: Batteries Low on Water
. . . batteries should have fluid level about 1/4 inch above plates . . . only use distilled water to replenish levels . . .

Re: Batteries Low on Water
How low were the batteries when you filled them? They may be toast if they took a lot of water! Do a running load test ( connect your meter across the pack ) and see what voltage you have while driving, then do the same for each battery. You'll find out where your problem is!
Just to be sure, you have charged them since adding water, and let the charger complete it's cycle until it shut itself off? Do this if you haven't and then do the load test. |

Re: Batteries Low on Water
The cart will only run for 2 miles then goes super slow, almost no movement. It does seem to lunge a little every now and then so I wonder if there is something loose?

Re: Batteries Low on Water
Yup. I would say batteries are bad. But you should check your battery levels once a month.
