Default Electric Cart Causing Grass Fire

I have a 1989 Club Car 36v and was told to be careful driving in tall grass due to the coils heating up and causing a grass fire. I bought the cart to roam my 45 acres of land and am now worried I may catch things on fire. Has anyone had a problem with this? Or know a solution to cover the coils.

Thanks!!

There is a good possibilty if your traveling through really high grass. Like new deep. I would also not park in high grass. There is a heat shield around I do beleive as well. But better be safer then sorry!!!

You can do an upgrade to your cart and remove the coils if you wanted too, this way you would not have the coils to worry about.

About how much would an upgrade cost? And what is involved? Is there a thread already about it?

go to Scottyb's website, Carts Unlimited. He has a conversion for your cart, it will come with instructions. Cost will depend on all what you get.
