Default battery plates damage?

2002 48v cc ds iq

what should good battery plates look like?

i went to top up my trojan's cells, and all 6 batteries look in bad shape.

it looks like cardboard, 2 metal plates with a corrugated piece in between em.

mine appear all warped and damaged. (looks like cardboard left in the rain.)

all voltages are above 8.x volts and the pack was like 52 or 53v
the cart seems to run fine, seems to charge ok.

but unfortunately when my charger was stolen, the cart got left in the deep freeze. (2-3ft of snow -- the river was frozen 20 inches thick if that tells you how cold it was)

will i be here asking questions about battery replacement this summer? or will it keep on running?

everything seems fine, although my stateOfCharge meter drops 1 bar as soon as i use the pedal.

Default Re: battery plates damage?

you need to see what they drop to under load and if they recover...........possible they hold good voltage but won,t when theres a load on them so thats where you need to look and also test every cell with a battery hydrometer that will give you answers also..................................
