batteries and charger
I need to buy new batteries and a charger for a 97 DS 48 volt any sugestions on some economical ones? Don't want cheep but don't need top of the line.

I would buy the charger that ScottyB on this site sells.(Its also the one I bought) Depending on where you live will change the cost of batteries. IMO I like interstate batteries, just because they have held up well in the plant I work. So, thats the ones I bought for mine. Batteries are the life of the cart so just think of that when you are buying them

I was told that cc 's need thier own charger because of the computer having the regulator in the cart and not the charger. Any thuth to this or is this a ploy to get me to buy a $500+ charger.

. . . CC OBC talks to CC charger telling it how much of a charge is needed to replenish the pack . . . if an aftermarket "intelligent" charger is desired, one can bypass the OBC's charge function . . .
