Default club car solenoid wireing help

ok i have a 2002 club car ds iq with alltrax 300 .ive had it for awhile fixing it up.i noticed all high amp wires on solenoid are on one post.i cant figure out why for sure maybe someone bypassed it.another problem is when i unhook neg from batt wait a minute then hook up i get a large spark/arc when its in tow.ive checked the tow switch and everything else i could think of.last thing is the charger wont shut off.all the batteries are perfect.if anyone can help please do The noob

Yea. It is definitely is not working the way it is hooked up now...

The large spark is a result of the current quickly flowing to fill the large, empty capacitors in the controller. A "Pre-Charge Resistor" is normally installed between the two large posts on the contactor to avoid this large spark every time the contactor closes.

ok.the solenoid was broke wire under cover broke so i solderd it back hooked it up the right way and its working right and no spark when neg hooked up.now the charger stays at 5amp doesnt shut off.im guessing obc but is there any way to test it

. . . not unusual for charger to sit at 5 amps for several hours at end of charge cycle as charger attempts to equalize pack . . .

it does equalize right all batt have 8.9 volts.the charger has been dropped from 5 ft on to the road.does anyone know what to look for in the charger

Thanks steve and sonic.i pluged it back in this morning to see if it will shut off.im worried about the batts getting over charged how many volts should the max be on them?

thanks.i will go check it and do you have any idea at what voltage the charger should shut down.or anything in the charger that could of broke when it was dropped?

Sounds like it is working correctly. The OBC actually controls the charge, the charger itself is "dumb". It just comes on and shuts off when its told by the OBC. The OBC may take a few charge/discharge cycles to recalibrate after being disconnected. !6 hours is the max it should stay on. If more than 16 hours have elapsed on a single charge, something is up with the OBC or the batteries.

The voltage is 51 whole pack.At what voltage should obc shut it down.and i will plug it in in the morning and see if it dont shut down at 16 hours.Thank yall so much.great people and site.
