Wel I have 6 of these batteries. Is it serious about runtime being less? I thought 36v was the same no matter where it comes from?

Re: 1960 Taylor Dunn T Bird Battery Conversion
its the batteries themselves, weigh a golfcart 6 volt battery and compare to weight of a 12 volt battery...........more weight equals more lead in batteries equals more runtime..................as i said 12 volts will work but you give up runtime and lifespan.........depending on your battery maintenence its possible to get 8 or 10 years out of a well maintained top brand golfcart battery.........12 volt best you can hope for is 4 years but more likely 3 years...........................
