Default 4 twelve volt batteries

I am posting for a friend who is thinking about buying a club car with the 4 12v batteries. He is lifting the cart and putting 23" tires and the salesman told him the clubcars get 30 miles on a charge and i think this is crap on a lifted cart with 4 12v batteries any info would be appreciated. My suggestion to him was 6 good 8v batteries would give you better run time. I am an ezgo guy so i dont know much about the club car but i do know on an ezgo that setup wouldnt work real well. Thanks

If he can get a cart from the salesman with 6 8 volts he is a lot better off...........
You are right in your thought process here and it isn't easy or cheap to convert a Precedent over. If it's a DS it is easier but you are still looking at the cost of batteries.

I don't know about miles - 30 miles seems a long ways for any stock electric cart. I have a 4x12 Precedent that I had in stock form for several months before putting on a 6" lift and 23" tires and really didn't notice a run-time difference between the before and after. All that said, it's pretty much a known fact that the 12v's don't have quite the run-time or last quite as long as the 6x8's. But mine has always run as long and as far as I've needed it to, so I haven't considered converting it. It's starting to fade on 4+ year old batteries, though. So, I'm starting to look into a new set.

Get a cart with 6-8 Volts already in it! I've had a 2006 Precedent with 4-12 volts and now my 2009 cart has 6-8 volts in it, it's a way better set up.
