06 Precedent brake problem
Help, my precendent suddenly started having brake issues. They grab hard when applied and do not release for about a second after i remove my foot from the pedal. I have tried adjusting the brakes without any success. It also beeps at me like it does when it not enough throttle is applied when coasting. I think it may be more electrical than mechanical. Ie an issue with the regenerative brake system. Thoughts?
Thank you. |

No, nothing has been done to it since I bought it 2 years ago.

Re: 06 Precedent brake problem
does it charge properly? could be a OBC problem
Does it run at full speed? could be a motor speed sensor problem |

Re: 06 Precedent brake problem
It goes to full charge but seems to deplete faster than it used to. It had new batteries two years ago when I bought it. It doesn't seem to be as fast as it used to be but I attributed that to the batteries being a couple of years old and draining faster than they used to.

Re: 06 Precedent brake problem
Can anyone give me detailed instruction on how to replace the speed sensor? I also understand there are two different styles of sensors.
Thank you in advance. |

Re: 06 Precedent brake problem
Don't know much about the Precedent but does it have a run/tow switch ? If so, I would put it in tow and see if you can roll it. If no, brake problem, if yes, see above

Re: 06 Precedent brake problem
. . . there are two different types of motors, each with it's own type of speed sensor and they are not inter-changeable . . . ADC motor and GE motor . . . ADC motors have speed sensor on back of motor housing, mounted with 2 screws holding the speed sensor unit onto motor housing . . . GE motors have speed sensor on back of motor housing, press-fitted into motor housing . . .
