97 Club Car 48Volt
I have a 97 48 volt series wiring. What and how does the solenoid operate? If i jumper across the two big terminals of the solenoid the cart works perfectly but connected normally the cart only barely jerks at the first push of the accelerator.

Re: 97 Club Car 48Volt
did you put the diode in the right direction? how about the microswitch that activates it? those are the only 2 other things......lastly its not uncommon to get a new ( bad solenoid )................................

Re: 97 Club Car 48Volt
not sure if the BIG resistor/diode is in properly how would we tell that? there is a diode between the small terminals as well is it directional as well? the wiring diagram we have is unclear about which wires go on the + side of the small terminal, we just hooked it up the same way it came in but the owner had already messed with it himself? Thank you again.

Re: 97 Club Car 48Volt
Your problem is in the solenoid activation circuit.
When ever you jumper the solenoid and the cart runs you still have 2 possible problems. 1 would be a bad solenoid & 2 would be a solenoid activation circuit failure. Or lastly, in this case, a wire in the wrong place! The best thing to do is to get the diagram and sort through this activation circuit wire by wire. You can remove the diode for testing purposes if you are unsure of it's condition or proper orientation. |

Re: 97 Club Car 48Volt
Called club car dealer they want 35 buck for a manual no biggie there but they can't email, fax or mail the printed copy to me i have to pick up in person and i live 60 miles from them. I'll try removing the diodes to rule that out for now thanks again for the help.

Re: 97 Club Car 48Volt
the diode is directional........the silver band on it has to be towards positive side.....resistor makes no difference but diode has to be right.....................
