Default another charging question

2001 CC DS 48 volt. If batteries had been ran down to low will the charger not turn on?

after playing real hard for a while the cart started to shutter. i brought it back to house and when plugged the charger in the meter did not move on the charger, however you can here the click. i check fuses and connections. I reset the OBC and getting same result. the controler and motor was real hot. This morning i drove the cart around, it seemed alittle slugish. i put a volt meter on one of the batteries and it read 7.48 volts. does the voltage need to be at a certain level for it to charge? the batteries are 6 mo old.

. . . yes, if pack voltage drops below about 38v, charger will not turn on . . .

something else i forgot to mention . When i reset the OBC the back up buzzer only lasted about 2 sec. Should it have lasted longer?

If the cart has enough voltage to move...it should have enough to kick the charger on.....

start with basics load test batteries and try your charger on another cart if you can.......if charger works and batteries hold load..............could be OBC issue...i agree if you can drive cart should be enough for charger to come on and you said charger clicked when you plugged it in.....i don,t think its low voltage..............check all your cables and wires if you ran it hard may have heated or melted a cable/wire somewhere...........................

indeed...after thinking about it make sure your getting power from your wall socket and breaker has not flipped as charger will still click when plugged into cart although not receiving power from your wall plug...when charger clicks can you feel it vibrating and humming, if so but meter not moving culprit is most likely the rectifier in your charger..
