04 48V club car is slow
I just purchased an 04 club car ds 48V. it is really slow going up hill and it doesn't have to be a big hill. the batteries are 2 years old and at full charge show 50.2 volts. what do i need to check myself before i take it to the cart shop?

Load test the batteries individually . . . one weak one can cause this . . .

50.2 is just shy of a full charge. attach the meter to the pack. Drill a hole into the side of the post and tape the meter on or get some clamps fitted on your meter test leads, or just tape the test leads to the pack. Then lay the meter on the seat and test drive. Watch the meter when you attempt the hill and tell us what the voltage reading drops to.. a drop of more than a few volts indicates a battery problem. You can then move the meter to individual batteries and repeat the test to see which battery(ies) need replacing, if any.

Re: 04 48V club car is slow
i did the battery check this morning. starting out i had 50.5, going up a medimum grade hill it went down to 46.3, up a steep hill it went down to 45.0 and was creeping. after about a 10 minute ride the total was down to 48.9. does this tell me anything?

You defiantly have a battery issue. What brand do you have?

i cannot find a brand name on the batteries. the person i bought the cart from said they were 2 years old. i thought that made sense since it is 8 years old and about 5 or 6 years is what you get on them i am told.

They could not even be golf cart batteries. At this point I would say batteries are at the top of your list.
