Default 06 precedent controller problem?

Hey guys, been reading on this site for a while and have learened alot. My problem is with a 2006 precedent CC. First ill start off with saying this cart and one just like it were my grandparents. They used them for a while and like everything else, were put under carport and left for dead. A while back I decided to use one around our property. The cart was slap dead and was probably like that for months. I plugged it in and charged it up and have been using it for a couple months. The power has been very low and seems to have little life between charges. After some research I found out that one of the batteries has a dead cell. Being lucky enough to have another cart to "borrow" parts from, I replaced the bad battery with one from the donor cart. All batteries are from dec 08. I know that they are on borrowed time but need to get the cart working propery 1st.

So short story long here is where im at. After replacing the bad battery, cleaning all terminals well and checking every cell, the cart wont move. Where im afraid i messed up is after replacing/cleaning the batteries, I thought it would be a good idea to clean the terminals on the motor. Although the cart was in tow mode, my friend who was helping accedentally touched the wrench to both terminals located on the motor at the rear very briefly. It sparked but was only for a split second. I reset the obc a couple times and have robbed the soleniod and F/R switch from the donor cart, but still have no luck. I know it will take some time for the replaced battery to fully charge, and everything on the cart is working properly except it wont move. The cart is at pur property and im going back there tomorrow after leaving it plugged in over the weekend. But an looking for advice on what to look for.

I can hear the solenoid clicking, and even changed it out to make sure.
The MCOR is working because the solenoid clicks and because the cart has to be "woke" up by pressing pedal once after switching from tow to run.
F/R switch has been changed but buzzer has always come on in reverse so I dont think thats it.

My guess right now is the controller or motor was damaged. I can switch them out tomorrow but am hoping someone can shed some light on this before I try that

Last thing: before when the cart was working, but had the bad battery and low power, the charger would jump to 15 then slowly fall. Sometimes it would take 5 mins sometimes 2 hours then it would shut off. No differance in power either way
Now with new battery, charger hit 5 then very very slowly moved up to 8 and was still running when I left. Please give any advise!

Cart is a 48v with 4 batteries. Last reading I got was each battery was 14+ volts and total was 51+ volts. Left cables on while testing each. Also used the gravity tester on every cell. All were good except the battery I replaced. It was dead im sure but will check again tomorrow after it was charged overnight

Shorting out motor terminals generally damages the controller . . . disconnect battery pack from cart (main + and - terminals) and swap out controller from donor cart, paying attention to wiring connections/draw up a detail of which one goes where . . .

. . as for charge cycle, it can take up to 16 hours for a "normal" cycle to complete . . . not unusual for charger to sit at around 5 amps for several hours towards end of cycle . . .

Steve, Thanks for the help. I changed out the controller and now the cart is working again. Its on the charger right now, when it turns Off I'll take it for a spein to see if the battery change helped out. What can I do with this busted controller? Is there a company that rebuilds them? Or can maybe beef it up for more power at the same time?

. . I am not sure, but ScottyB or Tahoe will know if you can get the controller repaired . . .
