Default DS wont move......

I'm new to the forum and also new to owning a golf cart. I recently acquired a 48v cart as payment for a debt owed to me. With that said, I believe the cart is a 2002-2004, not sure since all the stickers on underside of dash have been removed. 04 wiring diagram is a match. Now on to the problem, batteries fully charged, lights, turn signals, horn, back up buzzer, all work. The resistor on the solenoid is heating up as soon as the positive battery cable is hooked up. Put a multimeter on it and its reading over 49v with the key off. Thought soleniod was bad, bought new one with resistor, installed it and same thing happened. Any suggestions would be great as I'm at a loss. Would really like to get the cart going as it only has 107 hours on it. Thanks in advance.

thats a reagan cart is your F&R a rocker switch?.......thats not your main solenoid its the solenoid for the reagan braking...............your main solenoid isn,t going to have that resistor coil on it and it should be on right side of cart...........start by jumping the main solenoid and see if cart runs..........jack rear up jump large posts on main solenoid and then turn key on put in gear hit pedal......if cart runs.........bingo, possible it still has other issues like the reagan braking and i,ll tell you this now if your not fimiliar with elec. carts and you have a reagan with issues try and sell it get what you can and buy a ds..................................

If the wiring matches the 04 model then there is only one solenoid (with a 750ohm 10w resistor).

Put a multimeter set to 200v across the 2 small terminals of the solenoid, red on the light blue wire and black on the blue/white wire, there should a 0v reading. If it also shows 49v with the key off then unplug the MCOR 2 wire connector and see if that makes a differance. It sounds as though the solenoid coil could be permanently activated.

do you know how many people miss that reagan solenoid? or mistake it for the main......i have never seen a little resistor heat up to where you could tell by hooking up the main pos cable even if fed with power all the time.....now the resistor coil yes.....but who knows yes i could well be wrong.................................

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I was able to locate the serial number behind the ignition panel. Cart is a 2002 DS with the IQ system (though I don't have the handheld reader thing). With the suggestion of checking the small terminals on the solenoid I have discovered the wiring diagram does not match exactly. My small termials have red wires on the right and yellow on the left. Sorry for the confusions. How can I test the motor to see if I have a bad ground inside it. Also, I have been told if the backup buzzer still works then the OBC is still good. Any truth to that?

What makes you think it's an IQ? Can you post the serial number for us please? I have a pretty good idea of what's wrong but I'm not telling you until I know what you've got. The "red wires on the right and yellow on the left" sounds more like a series car than an IQ.

@TahoeDawg the Serial Number is AQ0242-******. The FNR toggle has the port in the bottom for the IQ device to be connected. In addition, when I entered the Serial into the Club Car website for the owners manual it also provided me with all instructions for the IQ device. I simply put 2 and 2 together and made an assumption.
