Default Club Car DS dead after being used to tow

My dad used his 2001 Club Car DS to pull a truck and afterwards it smelled like something got really hot. It wasn't very far but it was up a hill at one point and it was under a load. After letting it sit for a little bit he tried to move it and it completely died after a few yards. He replaced the solenoids but said they keep popping. Is there a way i can diagnose if he burnt the motor up or if there is a different problem. Thanks for the help.

A lot of people would disagree with that. Go to the races and you will see lots of golf carts Gas and electric towing dragsters back to the pits.... Some carts are better suited for this job.
Your Dad should look at the batteries first, attach a voltmeter and tell us what the standing still voltage is and what the pack voltage reads when you try to go.

If the batteries are still good, I would look inside the V-glide and see what the wiper contacts look like, they may have burned up?

Just because they are new doesn't mean one can't be bad already.
