Default My next annoying question

Well I've learned tons about this electric cart over the last week. Now for the question I promised earlier. PO has been using a 48 volt charger on a 36 volt resistor cart. How much damage is happening?

LOTS! I can't say for sure because I was never dumb enough to do it but consider this, there is a safe maximum voltage for every battery. Grossly exceeding that maximum will only serve to 'cook' the life out of the batteries. Similar to what happens when you put one new battery in with an old pack... in just a few months the new battery reads and acts just like the old batteries, because it was more sensitive and chemically active than the old batteries it got 'cooked' waiting for the old ones to finish charging..... I hope you get the picture. Over charging is bad. Under charging is bad. This is why I push the digital meter and recharge often program.
Hope this helps!

Scotty I was hoping ANY one but you was going to answer. In case you haven't answered enough of my questions all ready. I'm just being reminded more why I stick with gas carts but this is all a learning experience so it's worth it. Any one out there wanna trade a 48 volt charger for a 36?
