Default How to get speed code

I was wondering if i bought the handheld computer for club cars, how would i go about getting the speed code for the cart? Do you have to be an authorized dealer to get the codes from club car? I appreciate any input.

Private Speed Mode 4 Details

This might help! You'll need to purchase it from a CC dealer.

Buying a programmer/handheld would be pretty freakin expensive and all you would gain is a few MPH.
i dont know what your after (more speed or tourque) but i would invest in a alltrax controller (500$). They are programable "BY YOU" just hook a laptop up to your car and load the files Alltrax will send you.
The also allow over 500 amps (stock is 275) which gains you a ton of low end and top end as well.
well worth the investment

I am brand new at this. Last week I bought a 2003 cc pathway from a neighbor. It was sitting unused in a shed for years so it was not tampered with. I bought new trojan 8v batteries and it maxed out at 8mph. I rented a curtis 1313 and when i connected it I inadvertently knocked the speed setting to 3. It originally said 4 with a red exclamation point. There is no code decal, just the warning decal. Does anyone have advice on how to get back to 19mph? Its 80 miles to a club car dealer and im not in a golf cart community. Through the controller I saw the speed sensor was shot - which i replaced.

Where did you get the speed sensor? If it's made in China it likely is set up for wrong voltage to work on club car.

Yes, make sure it's a good OEM sensor, or it'll fail quickly. Revolution Golf Cars on here sells one. As for code 4, it doesn't sound like your controller ever had code 4 in it, if the stickers are not present. I'm sure you could call a dealer and have them check the serial number of your controller.

If the stickers are on the cart, a controller can be installed on another cart and not have stickers saying code 4 even though the code is in the controller. So you could very easy erase code 4 from a controller, and not be able to put it back in without those numbers. No telling were the controller came from, maybe some upgraded to 500 amp and sold there stock controller with code 4 in it.

I bought the speed sensor from ClubCar in Connecticut.

The decal which would have identified the codes was visible on the aluminum trim surrounding the front dash but the numbers are scratched almost completely off. I cannot make it out.

I am positive it was set to Code 4. I screwed it up with my fat fingers on the handheld programmer for controller. The cart does 15 mph all day long - drives great. Now I have to figure out how I am going to get back to code 4 on my own? Any ideas?

Help me geek out - I am considering a Brute force attack on the controller.

When you enter the right combination -exactly what occurs next?
