light kit
I have a 08 precedent with the 4 12 volt setup . I'm wanting to install a light kit on it . My question is , will I need the extra harness that us offered with the kits ?

Re: light kit
are you going with a factory light kit or aftermarket...these carts are prewired for lights from the factory

Depending on the kit you are looking at will be the determining factor on weather you need the harness or not. Lights Only - Non LSV Compliant Unless your factory harness is damaged, you should not need the extra harness as the wires are already provided for you and run to the general location they need to be by the factory. You will need the switch from the kit and you might need to extend the wires to the desired light location depending on the lights you will be using. Lights with Brake Lights and Turn Signals - LSV Compliant If you're looking at a kit that includes the Brake Lights and Turn Signals, you will need the harness, or at least most of it depending on how you decide to wire it. The factory only includes the wiring for the running lights and on / off switch, but not for the turn signals or brake lights. To get these options to function, you will need the provided wiring harness and switches. I hope this answered your question, -Scott H. |

Re: light kit
. . you MAY need to purchase a harness for the rear lights . . CC used to pre-wire the carts (Precedents) for tail lights, but at some point they stopped doing that, but I don't remember the exact year . . ScottyB or David will probably remember the exact year . . .

Steve, I'd love to know where to look for those pre-wired wires to see if I have them or not. Thanks. |

I honestly didn't know that they stopped running the wires on them. -Scott H. |

Re: light kit
Could always drill the required holes for the tails and see if the harness is there. If not, order it. Gonna need the holes either way. On my 06, i just ordered the kit and the wiring was already in place.
