Default Buying Club Car tomorrow

I am buying a 2003 Club Car cart tomorrow. (as long as it is as described). What are the pros and cons of this particular cart? Anything special I need to look for? Its a 48 volt system (4-12 volt Napa deep cycles in it)

It will be, primarily. use on a golf course, but I wont be able to leave it alone..it will have to get all the goodies (lift/wheels/tires/stereo/etc)

thanks for any help

Jerry

I am not sure if Club Car used 12 volts in that year cart, I know my 2008 Precedent has them though. As stated someone could have replaced the old bats with some cheapo ones from Napa. New bats probably run about $6-700 for 6 8 volts.

I agree, if the batteries aren't Golf Cart batteries there is a problem and I would be looking at replacing them with the correct ones in the near future. I would also bring that point up to the seller to try and get a price reduction.

Regular deep cycle batteries will technically work for testing and won't cause damage to the system if installed correctly, but they don't have the run time, amperage, or shelf life that the correct batteries will have.

It may be the owner just wanted to get the cart running for the least amount possible so they could sell it, but it still isn't correct and I would still be concerned enough to check EVERYTHING real well!

If it's a 2003 it's got to be a DS...... The Precedent didn't come out until 2004 with the introduction of the 12 Volt golf car batteries.... A 2003 with 12 Volts in it has to be a home-made job or a misrepresentation of the year. The DS wasn't available with 4 12s until 2006
