the stock controller only allows 275 amps to go thru it, getting an alltrax that will allow over 500 amps wont increase speed???? i beg to differ. At least thats my real world experience,,,,,,,,,, its not an opinion,,,,,,its just how it worked for me.
adding the plum quick will get you increase in speed of course but are you after 5 mph??? or like me and want to go big??????? to each there own. for me i didnt want a small increase i was after over 35 from the start.

Hanny you have a different application, high speed gears and you will need extra torque and a new controller to take advantage. Stock and i say added controller amps will not increase speed. However a change in controller could increase speed if it no longer puts a speed limiter, at least as far as the iq's go.

Thanks guys for all the responses, I called D&D motors today and talked to a guy named mike and he told me the best way to get more speed and torque would be to get the 400-500 amp controller he said I should see about 22-24mph and if i want to go faster than add the high speed motor!
But if i could just change the gears in the rearend that sounds less expensive where can I get gears and what ratio should I get Get?
So ill start with the 500 amp controller first!!

I would listen to the guy at d and d motors. He is right he says the controller will do that and then add the motor later. That is the route I went. Mine only see about 20 miles per hour But I also have about 200 extra pounds of assessories... hey train horn a winch and air system an extra battery... lots of extra goodies on my car but it still fast with just a controller, wires, and solenoid.

General rule of thumb around here is controller for torque, motor and gears for speed. Best way to go about that is starting with gears as they dont cost much and will give you great gain in speed without upgrading any wiring or other components...

Excuse me, but you're out of line. Take it down a notch or you'll be excused from the forum. You're new here so you're getting a little leeway, but just this one time.

Thank you and have a nice day.
