Default 2008 Club car cutting in and out

Of course everything happens while we are camping. My buddies 08 started cutting in and out. You will be driving along with pedal down then it is like you lose power for a second then start back up. I am thinking it is the mcor but not sure. Any suggestions. It is a 08 precedent with the 4 12v and the controller in the back wall. Thanks guys

Most likely it is your speed sensor. I have seen bad or weak batteries do a similar thing, but more than likely your speed sensor.

Thanks for the input. I will check the batteries first then go from there. Thanks

not exactly sure the diagnostic procedure but if you are holding the throttle all the way down steady and its cutting in out then i would think its a sensor issue. if it happens as you moving thru the throttle range then gotta say the mcor,,,,,,,,, that may not be the perfect diagnosis so if someone has a better idea that would be great

I generally find this to be an mcor problem and seems to be very prevalent in the 2008 and newer Club Cars. Generally you can just pull it out, clean it, an reinstall.

I'm also having this issue but only every so often on my 2007 Precedent. It usually only happens from a dead stop but occasionally it will happen while running at pedal down. I can hit the pedal fast several times and it will start back running and then it might be several days before it happens again. The speed sensor always seems to work (beeps when pushing backwards) so does this kinda narrow it down to the mcor? Sorry to hijack the thread and thanks to all for any help.

Mine was doing this and I just repaired it. The MCOR has a microswitch (the plug with two wires) that closes when the pedal is pushed down. If that microswitch gets gunky it doesn't close all the way and the controller cuts out.

Hook up your meter to the two pins in your favorite way and measure the resistance when you press the pedal (wait until it is acting up). If it doesn't go to 0 ohms (or very close) every time, this could be your culprit.

I took the MCOR off and carefully cut it open along it's seam with a dremel cutoff wheel. You then have to unsolder the 5 pins along the left side of the PC board to remove the board. Once out, spray a little contact cleaner into the microswitch and click it repeatedly until you get bored. Check resistance--if it now closes reliably, put a little dielectric grease on the resistor bands and reverse the process to reinstall the board. I sealed mine up with some RTV and two zip ties. Reinstall the MCOR and off you go...

Also, an easy test is to unplug the 2 wire plug on the MCOR and jumper the plug with a wire to mimic the switch closing. If that solves your problem, you're on the right track.
