Default HELP!!! - I need a 5K-0 potentiometer; I have a 0-5K, can i convert somehow?

Hey guys, please help.

I need the 36v to 48v, resistor to solid state. I wasnt thinking and ordered the 5k-0 controller and the 0-5k potentiometer. It wont work, surprise surprise. I cant find the right one I need, is there a place that sells it? Can I convert the one I have?

If the control is an Alltrax you can change the throttle input program to 5k-0

Your typical Curtis type potentiometer has 3 terminals and 2 wires....... when viewed let say these terminals are # 1 2 3. You will need to move a wire from one end to the other like #1 to #3 or the opposite #3 to #1 to reverse the output.

In the picture shown, the blue wire was moved from terminal #3 to #1

Hmmmm...Ill look at the back of my potentiometer, Ill see what it lloks like, I know that there are 3 locations on the micro switch attached and 2 wires coming out. Ill check to see if the 2 wires coming out have a 3rd output not being used.

You will have to open the box if you want to reverse the output.

So I did this, disconnected the 3 wire and connected it to the 1 terminal...still no go. Before I was atleast getting the solenoid to click. Now I get nothing.

Haunted cart.
