1997 Club Car DS won't move
First some history. It is a 48V DS non-regen cart that I rebuilt last year, new controller, batteries, and cables were installed. About 3 months ago I determined that the OBC wasn't charging the cart. After trying to reset it a few times still no charge, the cart would run however. I bought an automatic charger and bypassed the OBC and everything has worked fine since until we drove it the other night, and the next day it would not run. My understanding of the OBC is that not only does it control the charger, but if it senses a fault in the cart it won't allow it to run. Tried to reset the OBC a few more times still no go. Pack voltage is around 52 volts. Solenoid clicks when accelerator is depressed. My questions are
A) What are my troubleshooting options, could the F/R switch be bad? How can I test this? and B) Can I completely remove the OBC from the system? I read in another thread that by replacing the yellow wire from the solenoid to the OBC, with one that goes to the B- of the controller, I can effectively remove the OBC. Any help would be appreciated. |
