Question 2003 CC DS Won't always go

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out a problem on a friends cart. It's a 2003, 48v CC DS. Sometimes when using it, it will just quit and then after a while will keep on going like nothing happened. Tonight, I drove it all around with no problems and backed up a few times. When I finally went to back it up to the charger, reverse wouldn't work.

Here's what I checked:
all the connections are good and cleaned
the batteries all have 8.2 volts
I tested batteries with a load tester and they are fine that way
I always hear the solenoid click (but after reading a few posts, I will check that further!!)

Any other ideas about, or common problems, with this type of cart?

It also has a CC light kit and has a (voltage reducer?) bolted to the inside of the frame rail on the drivers side just behind the batteries. One end of that goes to the motor controller and the other end has two female blade ends that go to a small (4 or 5) male blade block from which wires go to the light switch I would assume. The lights don't work and am wondering if the reducers are prone to go bad. Is there a wiring diagram for the lighting systems on these carts?

Thanks for your help,

Scott

there could be several reasons why its acting up.......does it have the M-cor speed controll do you know? also a fully charged 8 volt battery thats reading 8.2 is not very good it should be more like 8.7 or 8.9 there abouts.............................

Could also be the F/R selector too. When it is dead, wiggle the F/R selector with the pedal slightly pressed and see if it tries to take off.

Hi Rusty,

I did try to wiggle the f/r switch when it died to no avail.

Shadowman,

I don't know if it has the M-cor... but the batteries weren't fully charged.

One thing I noticed is that when reverse started working again, I could push the accelerator to the floor and it would hesitate for a second or two before it would start moving.

Thanks!!

any suggestions for the lights or accesory wiring diagrams for factory options?

Scott
