Default 2004 precedent front suspension loose?

i just purchased a 04 precedent i noticed a lot of noise from the front suspension off road, so i jacked up the front end and the shocks and where the spindles bolt to the sideways leaf spring looking thing was loose so i made sure all bolts were tight but there is still a lot of play. is this normal?
it is supposed to be refurbished so i would think the bushings were new. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks

Looks to me that someone either put in the wrong parts, forgot some bottom bushings, or either didnt tightnen it up. or used the term "Refurbished" loosely!

ok i looked all the bushings are there and they look new. if you jack the front end up and move the tire around ther is a lot of play though. i tried to tighten up but everything is as tight as it will go. i am just confused. thanks for the help

The precedent has flaws on the front suspension. It wears out sooner than the DS cars. Club Car's version of the 04 rebuilds did not include rebuilding that front suspension (mistake). Typically speaking, the spring bushings, outer delta arm bushings, and spindle bushings show wear quickly.

I've started replacing the current spindle bushings with the old style D.S. bushings and thrust bearing. It seems to hold firmer and tighter.

thanks phasetim, that is good info. i looked and the bushings are new, everything is tight so i guess it is like you say. just loose. is there any way you could give me those part numbers? also just to make me feel better sincse you have a precedent, tell me if im correct, when you jack yours up and wiggle the tire there IS play side to side in the A arm? thanks again

I don't own a precedent I work on them daily though.

There is play in the spindle bushings. With new a arm bushings there should be no play in them, but you may be feeling the play thats in the spindle bushings. It's hard to determine where the wiggle is on those front ends, it's a little easier when its at eye level.

I don't have the part numbers handy.. (day off).
