How about a Club Car Demo???
Hi
I was wondering, does it make sense to buy an authorized CC dealer demo with the balance of a warranty from CC?? Right now there are three avenues; Buy a late model used CC precedent from a dealer with some kind of warranty. Buy a remanufactured CC precedent Buy a CC dealer demo. Of course all of the above from a CC auth dealer. Knowing very little about carts l will stay clear of private sales. What do you think? Also keep in mind that l am not looking for the deal of the century. My must haves; Cart in pristine condition newer batteries prefer Trojan 875's A color that l like 4seater Lights all the way around Front windshield (split) Seat belts (retractable) if possible. Nothing older then 2010. Thanks Alan PS for myself this is a blind item until l take it apart and put it back together! |

I hate to judge from a few sentences, but you strike me as the type that wants a turn-key package that you can just plug in, ride, repeat. Nothing wrong with that - my neighbor is the same way even though I've offered many times to help him mod-up the "cart of his dreams". He went and bought an ez-go that had been totally refurbed and tricked out like he wanted it. He even had the dealer send someone out, an hour away, the day after taking delivery, to adjust the brakes. If you've got the wallet to do it or you just aren't the hands-on type, then go for it. On the other hand, you could take the time to read around the forum and ask some questions if needed and learn enough to confidently go out and find the cart you want and save a few bucks. Many of us here invested in golf course hand-me-downs and then fixed them up how we want them from there. For me, it wasn't so much about the money. I had recently given up my Harley, which I enjoyed working on and accessorizing as much as I did riding it. So, I enjoyed the process of finding a cart and doing the mods myself. So, for me at least, it's hard to pick from any of your options. If you are going through a dealer and are going to get some sort of warranty, I really don't see how you can pick a bad option, considering that 2010 is the oldest you want to go. The heart of these things are the batteries. Whatever you do, read up on caring for them and follow the recommendations and I'm sure it will serve you well. |

Re: How about a Club Car Demo???
Nothing to apologize for. I didn't meant to come across as being critical. Nothing wrong with going turn-key if that's what you want. Certainly, you'd expect less surprises that way, but no guarantees. If you can find enough options in your price range and it's only a matter of choosing one, that's great. I have only one dealer near me and all they sell are golf cart retirees anyway and they are crazy overpriced. But then, they can be when they are the only game in town. I bought my first cart from them - a DS gasser. After a while, I realized I didn't need them to find a good cart and fix it up how I wanted it. I've probably got 3300 or so in mine and if I had gone to them for the same cart, same options, it would have been 4500 easily.
