Default 36v to 48v 90 DS

On a 1990 CC DS with V-glide system, to go from 36v to 48v what all would have to be replaced, other then the charger, charger socket, and batteries?
I have to buy a new charger and batteries any way, I just thought I would step-it up a little bit. Future plan is to go a with solid state system and new motor.

On mine I replaced the batteries, charger socket and bought a Yamaha Mac 2 charger. Works great.

Is it a resistor coil cart with the spring looking coils behind the batteries?

History shows you can put 48v to a resistor coil cart and it will run. It just won't run long.

The resistor coils are out of the amperage delivery at off and at WOT. Usually the Vglide or the coils or both melt down, sometimes it's the F&R ... whatever melts first will stop the cart.

The only way to make it reliable is to convert it to solid state speed control. To do that you remove everything but the motor and the key switch and replace the old toaster oven parts with modern electronics. lol
