Default yellow dash light/obc/curtis meter HELP

I have a question here about the chart for the obc yellow dash light.

I have a 2000 club car DS 48 volt cart. I just installed a new obc this week.

When I plug my charger in, the charger starts immediately, no delay of any kind.

The batteries are good, and have a pretty good charge on them already. I checked the cart after about 4 hours, and the charger was off. Nothing has been unplugged, and no power loss to the unit.

The yellow dash light does the 10 second on 4 second off thing, non stop. Also the curtis charge meter stays about 2 bars from full, and will not change.

I let the cart sit over night then checked pack voltage, it was 50 volts and some change.

I drove the cart around the block once , plugged in the charger, charger came on immediately, ran for maybe an hour then went off, and the yellow dash light is doing the 10 second on, 4 second off thing, and the curtis meter is still in the same spot.

I don't see where the curtis meter is running to the batteries, it looks like it is wired in the dash somewhere.

I was hoping after installing the obc, everything would work fine.

I see a couple options in the chart for the 10 on 4 off, but that is not the case here.

WTF? Anyone? Please? Thanks.

. . . my first guess would be a bad timer relay in the charger or the OBC may need to be reset, but wait for ScottyB or Tahoe to chime in . . . the battery warning light is showing an abnormal charging cycle

I can try resetting the obc. Since I installed it, I went right step by step from the manual, but don't recall it saying anything about resetting it.

Yes I did get the right obc, I ordered through David.

Does a new OBC need to learn the state of the batteries?

This I would need you to explain to me. I did install one new battery at the same time. All batteries are us batteries one year old ( except new one it is a month old).

I plug the charger in, it comes on immediately and goes to the 15 -20 amp range for a short while, then to the 10 amp range, then will eventually cut off. Then the yellow light sequence starts in.

Today I tried a obc reset. A couple things to point out at this point:

FIRST in the STICKY in this forum, I see a need to make 2 revisions. One, I removed the main negative wire as stated in the sticky. HOWEVER the sticky does not address the black #10 wire that is sharing the same battery terminal ( the black wire coming from the charge receptacle). So since it did not say to remove it, I didn't. Boy was I surprised, when I stepped on the go pedal and the cart rocketed backwards crashing into stuff. I think it should be made more clear in the sticky to remove all wires from the negative terminal.

My other gripe, is the sticky does not say when to let up on the go pedal. Do you continue stompping it down as you bring the obc back into the system, or do you let the pedal up first, after the 5 minutes?

After resetting the new obc, i noticed the battery bar indicater had not changed, still showed 2 bars down from 100%. So I plugged in the original Power Drive charger, and as it has been doing, the charger came on immediately without any delay. Needle started at 13.5 amps.

So I unplugged this charger, drove cart around the block, then I hooked up a different 48 volt charger I have from a 2002 cc cart. This second charger is a Power Drive2 charger. So this Power Drive 2 charger ALSO came on instantly when plugged in, no delay. Needle went up to about 14 amps. After 10 minutes, needle was at 10 amps. After 5 more minutes, the charger turned off, and the yellow dash lite when back into the same 10 on 4 off sequence. So the charger changing made no difference at all, the resetting the new obc, did nothing at all.

I did notice the green bar charge indicater is now at the 100% mark though. Big deal.

So this dash light sequence is still baffeling me. Any ideas or thoughts?
