Default Another Charging Question

Put the used cart I just purchased on the charger for the first time this morning.. Its a 36v cart and the charger has 4 l.e.d. lights that go 43,44,45 and 46... Over a period of time the first 3 lights finally lit up (one by one) but after many hours later the last one never did and the charger just continued trying to charge (buzz).. Is that a sign of anything like a weak battery/batteries?

Thanks
Cuz

Cuz......... That charger sounds like a relic or an odball. Maybe sombody here knows what the led's are telling, but I don't. The "Buzz" is however a good sign, usually meaning it is charging. Side note...... If the batteries are charging for around 20 hours or so, something is wrong.

Do you know if it is an automatic or manual charger?

Hope this helps a little.

Like rusty said can you post a pic of the charger spec plate? What brand is it? Please give us all the information you can? Charging for hours (4-5) is not a sign of trouble but charging for more than 10hrs maybe.

Sounds like the old lift truck chargers we had at work. Would check batteries, sound like 1 or more are weak.

It took a few hours to get up to 45v (one by one) but after 5 more hours never reached the last 46v light.

Here's a photo.. As you can see it says Club Car Automatic on it:

Thanks

Nice pic. I can see it is a good 25amp 36v charger. Check the battery pack voltage with a voltmeter. What did the pack read after the charge was 'done'?

I'll have to get another meter because a friend stopped by the other day, borrowed my $250 Fluke meter and burned it up checking 250vac lighting circuits, grrrrrrr
