What is this part?
I an changing my 2008 Precedent over from 12 volt to 8 volt batteries. This part has one side that was attached to the #1 battery (12 volt) and goes to a wiring harness near the controller. I am thinking that this is maybe for lights? Or I thought that it might be a place for controller diagnostics.
I am just wondering if I still need it (since I am changing to an Altrax 500 amp controller and new motor). If I do need it I am guessing I will need a voltage reducer (16 to 12 or 48 to 12). If you know please let me know. Thanks. |

Looks like a circuit breaker. Is there a number like 20 in the end of the round end ?

It says on front "Suppl.Prot.", and on the side it says it is "20 Amp". And on the two wire coming in and out it is labled Line and Load.

Ok I think it is a circuit breaker, probably powering my lights and if so I will still need it and will need a voltage reducer, would you guys agree or is it something else.

I can confirm KGSC's thoughts. It's definitely for your lights and you should definitely leave it there whether you have a voltage reducer or not.

Hey David,
You mean it is ok to hook up to 16 volt? Also What would happen if I left it unhooked, no lights, right? Also, My 48 v to 12v has a negative and positive and I only see a positive on this relay, where does the ground go, coming out from the reducer? |

That circuit breaker doesn't care how many volts you hook it up to. It has no idea where the circuit is grounded. All it knows is amps. As for the reducer, I can't tell you how to hook it up because I don't know which one you have. There are several different configurations.
