Default Charger Trips Out

Hello all..regarding my 2000 CC Carryall 48V, I plugged in the charger this morning to charge it up and the circuit breaker tripped. Reset it, and it tripped again in about 25-30 sec. Reset again and this time took about 2 min to trip. Once more and then about 5-7 minutes before tripping. The meter goes up past about the 1/2 mark on the charger, but DOES NOT come back down and 'cycle' like it usually does. That is where the problem lays, I believe. Any advice on this? Maybe the batteries were VERY low and the charger is overwhelmed? Thanks for any input!

Replace rectifier, relay and breaker on charger. What charger do you have? Here is the kit on ebay and is the only ebay user that sells OEM parts and would steer away from the cheap imitation crap out there.
