Before I spend more $$ -Longevity 85??
I have a 36V 1985 Club Car Electric that I put newTrojan t-105's in last year. It runs great and I have no problems with it. It does need new tires as I have tubes in 3/4 to keep it going. I am considering a lift kit with new tires and wheels, as my 8 y/o grandson has grown rather fond of it too. Nobody in the family golfs, and I live in a mostly wooded area with gravel roads, so I think the lift and tires would help a whole bunch. I just don't know if I should put another $650-$800 into it, being that it is so old. What is the average life expenctancy of one of these? Am I already lucky it is still running, or could I get another 10 years out of it (summers only.)
If it is not a waste, any recommendations as to what type or brand of lift kit I should get? Should I buy the lift kit and tires/wheels seperatly, or as a package? Thanks. |

Thank you for the reply, it brings up another question though. Obviously when you "aquire" a cart around 25 y/o it doesn't come with a manual. Outside of tires and battery, what other types of routine/preventative maintenance should I be doing.

batteries, cables, wires, those are the main things.......look around you may find a manual for the 85 and if you do buy it................keep batteries maintained cables good resistor coils good and you should be fine........if your ever goona cut corners just never do it on batteries.............................
