How to hook up a 48 to 12 voltage converter...
Hey guys... got another question i purchased a voltage converter ( http://www.cartbarn.com/48v36v-volta...ter-p-909.html ) from cartbarn.com and it didnot come with any wiring instructions. Contacted them and they said they would mail me some but thats been a week ago and still havent recieved any. I tried to reserach on how to hook it up but keep coming up kinda short. I have three wires, black, yellow, red. As of right now i have the red wire hooked to the 48volt (positive side of 4th battery) side of my batteries ( i have 4 12 volt battereis) black i grounded to the frame, and yellow i have tied into with my radio and have those hooked up on the positive side of my first battery,.Any help would be much appreciated...Thanks...

Red to plus on battery pack, black to negative on pack and yellow to device positive.

You might want to figure out a switch (relay) in the red power lead so it is not on all the time

The converter connects to the total pack, connect it where the cart connects to the pack. If your not sure where that is, look at all the battery cables, each cable goes from battery post to battery post except for 2. Those 2 cables are at your main + and - connections.

What Scottyb said. Put it on the switch before hooking up and that way you can avoid the spark that could potentially fry your controller when hooking the reducer to the pack.

Also does the radio need to be grounded to the frame of the cart?
