Default Fuse on Solenoid

I'm installing my new HD solenoid and there's a fuse wire? that runs between the to main post on my old Albright. I don't think it will fit on the new HD. what is it for? is it even needed? It in this clear red plastic wire thing. Should have I ordered it with the new solenoid?

Thanks,
Steve

I had another question, thanks Scotty for the schematic. I can make the resistor work but the diode conects the 2 spaid wires yellow and red, It is part of the Albright solenoid and you can't take it off. Is it really needed? should have I ordered this also. I can add little lugs to the yellow and red wire and conect to the new solenoid. I don't want to rig this but will it work with what I got?

Thanks,

Steve

Yes, you need it to protect your new contacts.... we don't send one out without new resistor and diode, it's included....

I just installed that solenoid in my cart with diode and resistor. The place I got it sells it with the option to ad the diode and resisitor which I did and also highly recommend. Good luck.

Thanks everybody for the help, I found a diode at radio shack that works. Theres a thing I don't like! the **** click is LOUD, it sounds like I'm clapping my hands. Its a hunting cart and its suppose to be quiet , it pulls harder and the response on take off seems faster?

Thanks again...
Steve
