Looking for wheels & tires information

Hi,

I have a recently purchased 2009 Club Car Precedent. It is stock as far as I know, bought from local dealer. I am a new owner with little golf cart experience. I just added a roof radio console with 4 speakers and voltage reducer. Also added a lockable dash panel to match radio enclosure. Clocked speed with GPS and it will do 19 mph on flat & level road surface.

My questions are:

1) What size should the stock wheels and tires be?

2) Without a lift kit, what is the largest size wheels and tires could I go to?
Thinking of nice looking custom wheels. Maybe just a little faster?

3) What are advantages and dis-advantages of larger wheels & tires?

Stock would probably be 8" wheels. Stock height would be about 18 inches. You can maintain this height with larger wheels by going to lower profile tires such as a 12 inch wheel would be a 205x30x12; a 10" wheel would be a 205x50x10 tire.

The Precedents do not have a lot of space for bigger wheels without lifting so I think stock height and zero offset would be the best if not lifting, otherwise it will rub on the wheel wells when turning.

Advantages of going larger would be greater speed but less torque.

Disadvatage of low profile tires would be a rougher ride and a greater tendancy of damaging wheels when rubbing or goin over a curb (golf course curb). But they look better to me.

I have a 10" wheel with a 3+4 offset. There are very few 12" wheels that will work without a lift or modification for the Precedent.

I also am a new owner of a used 2009 Club Car Precedent. I also am looking for 12" wheel and tire combo.

The only wheels I have found, calling aftermarket mod shops, are the Fairway Alloy brand. They only have three different models with a -20 mm offset. All three are also 12x6.5 instead of the standard 12x7. Sixer, Rallye and Rebel. A standard 2+5 offset works out to be -50.8 mm so these Fairways would be less than half the offset and 0.5" inches thinner. One of shops I called claimed it was the only wheel that would not rub in the front when turning. Does anyone use a 2+5 offset and does it rub in the front when turning?

Note: I am a new owner and by no means a mechanic or mod guy. This is just what I learned from forums, research and calling around.
