Default Are there any high performance (500+ amp) controllers capable of regen braking for IQ

I have a stock '04 club card ds iq and I'd like to increase the performance by replacing the controller and possibly upgrading the cables but I NEED regen braking, any ideas?

Sure thing, all you need is an Alltrax DCX400 or DCX500 controller. You can program them with your computer and set the level of regen braking you want. Including a plug brake option.

But with either option you will need to upgrade the solenoid and cables. With a 400 you will need a 200 amp solenoid and 4 gauge cables, with a 500 amp you will need a 400 amp solenoid and 2 gauge cables.

Can the dcx600 be programmed the same way? I just figure if I'm gonna do it, I might as well go all out, I'd like to be able to spin the tires pretty much on demand. What difference would I notice between the dcx600 and the dcx500?

Yes any DCX model can be programmed the same way. How are you going to use your cart?

Just for buzzin around, but it has a lift on the back and combined with my wheelchair, it probably adds a few hundred extra pounds. I drive it on a street with a 25 mph speed limit pretty regularly so it'd be nice to be able to go close to that fast so cars aren't flyin by me left and right. What I enjoy the most is getting sideways which is difficult with my current setup.

500amp will setup you up nicely. More than enough power, I have a 500amp in my 2001 Regen and I tow other carts all the time with out issue. If you want we can go into my entire setup at some point, just send me a private message.
