Charger Problems
1997 Club Car. 48V. Couldn't get charger to charge batteries. Batteries were originals so purchased 6 new batteries. Dealer charged batteries. When we plug charger into cart. Hear a click and it sounds like power but meter needle does not move. Did 18, pluged in car overnight, tested batteries next morning and seemed to be fully charged. Plugged a neighbour's charger into our cart and same thing, hear a click but meter needle did not move. Anybody have any suggestions what we can check? Thanks

Re: Charger Problems
It is the voltage from the batteries that sets the relay.

Re: Charger Problems
the clicking you hear is the power relay clicking from the cars voltage. It is totally exclusive from the A.C. circuit.
Usually if an on board computer has failed you will not get the audible click. The symptoms you are listing is usually the wall outlet versus anything else. If it's a ground fault try hitting the reset button. Good luck |

Re: Charger Problems
i kinda forgot but also give the grey wire that comes out of the charge receptical on the cart a tug to make sure it dosn,t come off and for the heck of it check the fuse right there........they sometimes get crodded inside and will break, i have only seen this happen a handful of times but its always on the 97 or older carts...................you have 2 chargers doing the same thing on your cart and i,ll bet if you try your charger on another cart that you know is good it will work and if it does than it has to be either in your charhe receptical or your OBC ........anyone mess with any wires back in that area where they might have unplugged one? 97 should have a small red wire that bolts onto the solenoid and that red wire may have a fuse in it just like the grey wire....some do some don,t.......... and than a yellow wire that connects with a bullet connector and a brown wire with a spade terminal..........those 2 wires the yellow and brown check to make sure they are still connected.........they come out of the harness back and kinda right below where the controller is.................................
