Default Request for radio suggestions

Hi,

(Sorry to ask again, but really need ideas, did not get any to original request)

I have a 2009 Precedent. I have added an overhead radio console. My problem is the radio I installed. When mounted overhead the LCD display is not visible from a seated position. It looks dark and the display is not visible at all. Apparently the LCD viewing angle from below is very limited.

Looking for a recommendation as to which radio I should purchase now. Ideally, I would be looking for the following features:

1) Waterproof marine AM/FM radio stereo, 4 speakers
2) Remote control
3) Aux input for iPod
4) USB flash drive input for MP3 music
5) SD memory card input for MP3 music

Within reason price is not an issue.

Thanks in advance for any ideas / suggestions.

Just an idea...

when we install overhead radio consoles we add teflon spacers on the screws that secure the rear half of the console to the top. by doing this you point the radio down towards your face. These spacers can be purchased at your local hardware store. Below is a link with a picture.

Nylon 6/6 Spacer,1/2" Long x 0.500" OD x 0.257" ID for 1/4" Screw Size (Pack of 100): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific Nylon 6/6 Spacer,1/2" Long x 0.500" OD x 0.257" ID for 1/4" Screw Size (Pack of 100): Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

Thanks for the idea. The unit I currently have is from Boss Audio. It is only 4.5" deep and very light, no CD, just AUX input, USB & SD card slot. Therefore it should be easy to adjust the angle of it. I will hopefully start this weeked.

I am surprised by the lack of information available on this issue as it must also occur in boats with overhead radio mounts.

Again thanks for your response.

I would start by buying a better name brand radio, that may solve your issue, although a bad angle will make it difficult for any radio. A smaller pixel display should be better for this than one with the older large pixel display radios which is still used on some of the cheaper radios. Kenwood, alpine, pioneer are just some thoughts.
