This is a rather old post.
No disrespect to impalass88 but the facts quoted are not really facts, just one person's interpretation of how they understand the facts.
There are as many opinions on batteries as there are batteries and members.

dougmcp, If my facts are wrong please correct me. These ARE facts not by my opinion but by hard evidence. I have talked with many battery representatives and these are what I have been told time and time again. I have been researching batteries for several months and this is what I have found. If you know something I have posted is not true please correct me. I do not want to spread wrong information to anyone, I want to learn from everyone, and this is what I have learned. If you doubt something posted please correct for my sake and others. Thank you.

Battery reps have a responsibility to hype the batteries they represent. Would you go to a Ford dealer and expect them to talk up a Chevrolet?

Gornoman, I mis-spoke myself, these reps I speak of are actually dealers (battery wholesalers) that sell multiple brands. One sold Trojan, Crown, and US Batteries. Another sold Crown and Exide. Another Trojan, Exide, Superior. I understand if you talk to a guy who sells only one brand he is going to say his are the best, I would expect that. I try to get info from un-biased people. Some of the info is from a guy who tests batteries. He is totally un-biased and showed me practical results. Again, if my info is wrong please let me know. The last thing I want to do is steer people in the wrong direction. I just want to help those who need it with accurate info.

what are the specs on that battery..continental that is..... and model number....?

some of the Trojan fans might know off the top of there head,,, but for me i wouldn't know because i use ONLY US BATTERY.......trojan batteries are over rated highly in my opinion...but you can have the best battery that is made if your electrical circuit is not maintain properly, you would not have a clue what a good battery is...

I agree. Trojan is a very good battery but has raised prices based on reputation and I have been told has become rather picky on warranty claims.

If doesn't matter what battery you use, if you don't break it in properly and maintain it right it will not last long.

I have not heard much of Continental but it looks as though they have ties to Trojan. If they are using Trojan's technology they should be very good batteries. Who knows they might be re-badged Trojan's. I cannot find any specson continental to base an opinion. Just make sure you take good care of them and follow the proper break in and maintenance and they could prove to be good batteries for years to come.

If I remember right, the 6 volt Continental battery has the same specs as the Trojan T-605. Not as good as the T-105 but close. I have several sets of the Continental batteries out with customers and have had no problems. I also have had no problems with any Trojans. Continental battery is the master distributor for Tojan battery.
